About Bongosathi – The Bengali Cultural Association
Bongosathi is a not-for-profit community organization based in Melbourne, Australia, committed to celebrating and promoting the rich cultural heritage of Bengal while fostering unity across diverse communities.
Formed by passionate individuals from the Bengali diaspora, Bongosathi’s mission is to create inclusive, meaningful, and culturally vibrant experiences for all. While rooted in Bengali traditions, our initiatives go beyond regional identity to embrace multiculturalism, social engagement, and community service.

Our Key Initiatives
West Melbourne Durga Utsav – A grand multicultural event featuring Melbourne’s tallest-ever Durga idol, recognized under UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage.
Community Service – Organizing blood donation drives, charity campaigns, and educational outreach.
Cultural Collaborations – Partnering with diverse community groups for dance, music, and artistic showcases.
Youth & Family Engagement – Creating platforms for young talents, family events, and cultural workshops.
Bongosathi is proud to be supported by the Consulate General of India, Melbourne, and local institutions like the Asian Business Association of Wyndham (ABAWyn).
Together, we celebrate heritage, unity, and community spirit — with heart, harmony, and humility.

We are delighted to share some special moments from our Blood Donation Drive held on 15 June 2025 at Werribee Donor Centre, in collaboration with Australian Red Cross Lifeblood.
A sincere thank you to Mathew Hilakari MP, Member for Point Cook, and Cr Susan McIntyre - Wyndham City for joining us, encouraging our donors, and supporting this noble cause. Your presence meant a lot to our community.
We also thank all our incredible donors who came forward to give the gift of life. Your support and generosity truly embody the spirit of community.
Together with Australian Red Cross Lifeblood, we are proud to do our part in saving lives — one drop at a time.

11th International Yoga Day Celebration – A Huge Success!
We are thrilled to share some wonderful moments from our Yoga Day event held on Saturday, 21st June 2025 at Lollypop Creek Community Centre, Werribee.
A heartfelt thank you to our amazing Yoga Instructor CA Rekha Paul for guiding us through a peaceful and energising session.
We sincerely thank Werribee MP John Lister - Labor for Werribee for his gracious support and encouragement, which made this program even more special.
